Museum grounds are open daily during daylight hours only.
The museum & visitor centre are closed on statutory holidays, and the following day when holiday is on Monday.
About
Since 1977 the museum has provided services to locals and visitors sharing the stories of the Sooke Region's history. Temporary and permanent exhibits, heritage buildings, and community events such as our annual Open House & Salmon BBQ, Moss Cottage Christmas, and Sooke Summer Night Market. The museum also has an extensive gift shop and is the official provincially designated Visitor Centre for the Sooke to Port Renfrew area.
Indoor exhibits include First Nations basketry and settler history featuring mining, forestry, maritime exhibits, as well as the popular All Sooke Day film. Outdoor exhibits include the Forestry Path, Servants Quarters, the Saga of the Lord Western and the Lighthouse from Triangle Island.
HOURS :Â We are open Tuesday to Saturday from 9:30 to 5, (Wednesday we open at 10am). Museum grounds are open seven days a week during daylight hours only, with a variety of outdoor exhibits
